Teachers Pay Teachers (or TpT) has changed my life. Without question. Partially because I sell on the site and the extra income fed me through graduate school. But I also buy on Teachers Pay Teachers and that is what I’m talking about today.
Us SLPs are an amazing breed of human. We strive each and every day to help our kiddos effectively communicate and navigate their worlds. This job can be a daunting one and is something we don’t take lightly. Sometimes that pressure can be overwhelming.
If I sat down and made activities for each of the kiddos on my caseload when I needed them, I would miss out on so much. And I’m one of the lucky ones. I have an extremely small caseload, supportive coworkers, and tons of materials at the clinic I work at. I am young, excited to go to work, not bored, and not stuck in a rut.
But yet, Teachers Pay Teachers has changed my life and the quality of work I do. I have more time to enjoy myself while doing better, more specific, effective therapy.
Because of Teachers Pay Teachers, I can…
Go to beer festivals.
Drink coffee, slowly (sometimes).
Go on weekend trips with friends. And relax.
Go to a local, nearby brewery on Friday nights.
Go to the dog park, take a slow walk, and breathe.
Watch Ellen.
And, go on vacations without a laptop.
And most importantly, I don’t feel as though I sacrifice doing good therapy because of these things. In fact, I believe Teachers Pay Teachers has significantly increased the quality of therapy I provide.
Because of Teachers Pay Teachers, I can…
1) Send home targeted, seasonal homework that is motivating.
2) Love what I do each and every day as I don’t feel like a broken record or feel as though I have to do the same lesson plans over and over.
3) Stay up to date with current educational and speech trends and implement them on a daily basis.
4) Make communicating more fun!
5) Plan activities that provide adequate supports for the kiddos I work with. Some needs visuals, got that. Some need interactive materials, got that. Some need carryover activities, got that.
So in summary, I love Teachers Pay Teachers. It makes it possible for me to plan great activities for the week and do more of what I love. Why do you love TpT?!

{thanks for reading}
I love seeing my kiddos grow and learn!! TpT has given me some creative and fabulous products!!
I love TPT’s ease of use and the creativity I find there. I don’t have time to come up with my own ideas so this site helps tremendously with that. 🙂
I really don’t know what I did before TPT! I rely on the quality materials available, as my caseload is ever changing!
So true! My only problem is deciding what to buy (or more accurately, what not to buy!).
I am a paraeducator, with 15 years experience, supporting two SLP’s in a large elementary school. Our caseload is ever changing, and like all of yours, I’m sure! We have one working at this level, on multiple goals, and three working at this level, Artic, but all different sounds. We provide services to Early Childhood, community speech, and K-6. Teachers need groups to accommodate their ever increasing classroom requirements, and we do our best to help them. It seems to me, we are always struggling with mismatched groups and too little time. I need variety as much as my students! Teachers Pay Teachers is my constant source of inspiration. I confess, I have purchased few. I did support the Moore SLP’s and gained some valuable resources. But since I have no budget, provide all my own materials and supplies, I rely on the freebies a great deal. Thank you for your generosity and support! You are helping so many more children than just those on your caseload. Bless you for your compassion and genius! I am so in awe of you.
This made my day! You are too kind.
