Would you like to target functional, high frequency words in your articulation therapy? This resource will help you target words your students actually use like “really” and “are” instead of random, noun-based targets like “rooster” or “monster”. Check out the second preview image to see an entire word list! Data sheets are also included!
This resource includes printables to target R in isolation, syllables, words, phrases, sentences, and in reading! There are targets and worksheets including for all forms of /r/ including: ar, air, ear, er, ire, or, rl, prevocalic /r/, and /r/ blends. The worksheets work incredibly well for short, drill-based articulation sessions!
Some examples of the printables included are:
- R dauber pages
- R tic-tac-toe
- Picture description
- R game board
- Drill-based flashcards
- R roll and say
- Word flashcards with icons
- Reading passages
Most of the pages are in black & white for easy printing with the exception of a few pages that utilize real pictures (and the colored binder cover pages). There is a focus on literacy throughout.
In addition, the worksheets include simple interactive features like editable text boxes and check boxes for easier use on your computer or in teletherapy sessions!

R is the sound I work on most and this resource has been my daily go-to. Having printables from isolation all the way through reading passages means I can meet every R student exactly where they are. The game boards and flashcards keep sessions engaging.

As a fellow TPT seller I appreciate the quality here. Targeting words like “really” and “are” instead of random nouns is such a smart approach for R therapy. The fact that all vocalic R forms are included (ar, air, ear, er, ire, or, rl) makes this a one-stop shop.
