I work with students ages 3 through 2nd grade. I feel like I target WH questions every single day (probably because I do!). I made these awesome grab and go WH question materials using real pictures. Check it out!
This packet targets who, what, when, and where questions. Each card has 2 picture choices. There are 20 cards for each WH question type.
I also included card deck covers! The symbols on the covers shown below are shown in the upper left corner of every card. The symbols also match the included posters!
I included 2 posters for each question type. One is simple and contains the WH question word, the symbol, and a basic explanation. The more complex poster gives sentence starters and examples of how to answer each question.
Because I am constantly trying to take more (and better) data, I included simple progress monitoring forms for each WH question type.
Once your students demonstrate increased knowledge of each targeted question type, they are ready to move onto the pages shown below. I included 10 of these generalization pages that contain 1 real picture on the top and 4 questions (with the same symbol supports) on the bottom.
I keep those in the back of my WH Question Interactive Binder.
Click here to check out the product in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. In total, it is 67 pages of awesome, versatile WH question material!
{thanks for reading}
Check out some other pictures of the product below.
I have to stop reading your blog and looking at your Facebook posts. I want whatever you post about. I should just buy it all and be done with it but then you would make more stuff!
Love this! Thank you for making such great therapy tools!
This product is a great tool because the binder rings make it so accessible. These are great for developmentally delayed language kiddos as well as cognitively impaired and autistic. The photographs make the product “real” for the kids, and therefore more engaged. The posters with pics explain the concepts for kids that need visuals. For the therapist that doesn’t always know exactly where she will be doing therapy day to day (outside, picnic table, floor, closet, library, cafeteria…I kid you not), these are great to throw in my bag of tricks when I am being itinerant. Thank you!
I love the real pictures for this product. The 2 levels for the question type and answering are awesome! this can be used with a variety of students not only answering wh- questions but using expanded sentences too! Amazing product just like all your others!
I love the organization of these items. I have a lot of things for wh- questions but can’t find them. You know, I have filed them in that place where I will never forget where they are.
I recently purchased this item during the TpT sale and I use it all the time! I especially like the questions visuals with examples on how to respond. Wish there was one for teaching “why” questions as well. This is a great product, thank you!
Oh my goodness how does it get any better? I can think of million (ok maybe not quite a million) ways to use this with the wide variety of my caseload!
This looks perfect for my elementary school students. So many of them need different levels of support than what is included in the products. Thank you for another fantastic resource!
I so appreciate the creative and innovative tools SLPs are creating!! I don’t know where you find the time!
This looks like a great product! Photographs vs. line drawings for some of my kiddos will make all the difference – wonderful idea!
Your products are awesome. I work with ages three through junior high school but the ability levels are varied so this product will be great to use with all of them!
I would like it all! To be so organized all the time would be a dream!
It looks like you’ve done a great job of differentiating the material, nice visual supports, lots of opportunities for guided practice and generalization, and you’ve broken it down nicely for those kids who really need explicit instruction in this skill- it’s going on my wish list for materials I’ll be assembling the summer. Thanks for sharing
pick me pick me!!! 😉
I would love to win these!!! I love the real pictures and that there are choices!!

Love this!
I live the sentence starters and the examples for how to answer the questions. I’ve been finding it hard to explain to my kids how to answer “when” questions in particular- these look like they’d be an answer to that problem!
I need this. Seriously.
I am so impressed with your products, always! Thank you for your willingness and desire to share them!!

This is an awesome tool and easy to prepare for use. This is the first time I have had a chance to read your blog, but guarantee I will be returning!! Love the idea of using real pictures and the focused questions with choices are wonderful for those little kiddos who have such a difficult time with the “wh” concept.
