This resource targets simple sequencing and story retell. It includes 24 cards in total that you can on the Boom Learning™️ (Boom Cards™️) platform.
There are 12 cards where your student can drag images into the correct sequential order and 12 cards with a short story your students can retell (while dragging and dropping the images into the correct sequence).
The cards cycle through these two formats: first there is a drag and drop sequence card and then the next card will contain a short story using the same sequence.
All of the sequences include 4 steps and target the words “first”, “next”, “then”, and “last” to retell the steps or the story.
Some examples of sequences targeted in this resource are: baking a cake, doing the laundry, mailing a letter, how a flower grows, how to dive into a pool, and how a bird makes a nest.
Because these are Boom Cards™️, they work really well for teletherapy or digital speech therapy. You can read more about Boom cards below or on their website.

Great resource for teletherapy!
Nora M. –
I really like how this sequencing resource is designed and displayed. It’s similar to how I like to do it in therapy with the text above and the pictures below to put in order. Thanks for all your hard work.

Story re-telling and sequencing is often difficult for my autistic son. He tends to listen to instructions, but only hears the last two. He is every bit a visual learner, so this has been an absolute great resource for him. Thanks!

Kelly Diverio –
useful for my students while virtual learning is going on
Katrina S. –
These cards were exactly what was missing from my resources! It helps develop sequencing, use of first/the/next/last, past tense, increases verb vocabulary and the double system of sequencing then story was well thought out and expanded student knowledge! I will be using this a lot! Money well spent!
Leslie G. –

Great sequencing resource. I like: the number of stories included, the size of the pictures allowed kids to clearly see the details, loved the follow up written story prior to the retell.
Megan R. –
Great to use during therapy sessions AND to send home via fast pin or student account for review at home 🙂 Thank you!
Stephanie O. –
Awesome resource! Very fun via distance learning and able to elicit so much language!
Amy T. –
I like that there is an option for students to sequence the pictures based solely on the pictures which indicates whether the student has the internal representation of the sequence involved in everyday activities. There is also, for the same picture sequences, stories to go with the pictures for those students who need that. This tool can address both receptive and expressive sequencing goals depending on the student’s level and need. Thank you!
Caitlin M. –
During school closure, it’s an easy to use and understand activity. My students enjoy using it independently and during live sessions.
Jen C. –

Farah Lyn G. –
Love this so much! Great Boom cards for sequencing!
Jacklyn H. –
this is definitely my new “go to” activity for students working on a variety of skills, not just sequencing. I really like the printed stories and having the students give me a retell of events. It is also great for having them answer “wh” questions about each picture, and for describing each picture with complete sentences when using the sequence pictures without the printed stories. Not to mention, for sentence imitation. There are so many ways to use this resource; and there are lots of stories to choose from, making it easy to use with the same student on multiple sessions without repetition if needed. LOVE IT!!!
Cinnamon T. –

Love the Boom cards! They are especially helpful for on-line learning, but I have used them when school was in-person, too. I travel between campuses and it is nice to not have to transport many materials. In fact, the older I get, the less physical materials I seem to bring to my campus(es)! Thx!

This was super easy to use and the kids loved it!!!
Erica A. –
Great for teaching retell vocabulary, thank you.
Jessica W. –
This is a great boom card resource. The sequences are all 4-steps and the pictures are easy to differentiate.
One suggestion though… I would like it if the boom cards were separated into two decks: one with just the picture sequences, the other with the short stories and sequences.

Clear pictures; I like that I can use this resource for multiple goals- retelling, sequencing, answering wh-questions, fluency, and articulation carryover to name a few. I’m very picky about what Boom cards I purchase and this was a good one.
Samantha B. –
Thank you so much for this product!
For the Love of Speech –
I am always looking for good story retell and/or step sequencing stories. I would say the cards in this deck focus mostly on sequencing the steps in an activity as opposed to retelling the events in a story. One of my students has a hard time differentiating between pictures with slight differences, so we had the opportunity to work on looking carefully at the pictures and comparing/contrasting them to determine which picture best represented the sentence in the story. This resource offers both a picture level and a story level – I personally only use the story level, but I could see how the picture level would allow for a higher-level skill of story generation.
Alisha S. –
Thank you for creating a no prep resource. Sequencing is a tricky concept to teach, these cards worked well for my students.

It was easy and fun to use via teletherapy, and what I thoroughly enjoyed was how adaptable it was to different ages. Great for small group!
I use this resource a lot as a small group tool rather than for students to use on their own. They enjoy it a lot. Sometimes my higher students will do this on their own, great resource!
