This packet contains tons of activities and printables to increase your student’s ability to set goals for themselves, especially ones related to post-high school plans. It’s perfect for older students especially those at the middle school or high school levels.
It contains the following:
- A student workbook
- Goal writing pages
- Worksheets
- Vocabulary activities
- Conversation question ideas
- Student surveys
This packet was created by a speech-language pathologist so there is an emphasis on vocabulary throughout. The included conversation questions contain targeted goal setting vocabulary words to help reinforce the meaning.
Other repeated themes throughout this packet include identifying strengths/weaknesses and learning the importance of “soft skills”.

As the end of the school year comes to a close, I find it more challenging to keep my 8th grade students engaged in therapy in their last few weeks before transitioning to high school. This goal setting packet was AMAZING! Today, in one session, we completed three pages together, self-reflecting on our strengths and weaknesses and what my students’ professional and personal goals were. When one of my students had a difficult time coming up with his own strengths, his peer then described him and all of his strengths. I was in awe of their compassion toward each other’s future goals. Thank you for bringing out my student’s love for learning and bringing the WHY back into what we do as SLPs.
