This packet was created by a speech-language pathologist so there is an emphasis on vocabulary throughout. The included conversation questions contain targeted goal setting vocabulary words to help reinforce the meaning.

    As the end of the school year comes to a close, I find it more challenging to keep my 8th grade students engaged in therapy in their last few weeks before transitioning to high school. This goal setting packet was AMAZING! Today, in one session, we completed three pages together, self-reflecting on our strengths and weaknesses and what my students’ professional and personal goals were. When one of my students had a difficult time coming up with his own strengths, his peer then described him and all of his strengths. I was in awe of their compassion toward each other’s future goals. Thank you for bringing out my student’s love for learning and bringing the WHY back into what we do as SLPs.

    I wish this had a answer key for vocab section page 23-29 and soft/hard skills pages 19-22 so students can independently check their work. Otherwise, it is a good resource that the teacher can plan many lessons with. I used it with students who were on grade level academically/cognitively, but have a physical disability which gives them special ed services for accessibility only.
