Do you play Hedbanz, Jeepers Peepers, or 20 Questions with your speech and language students?
This is a fun interactive tool to help teach your students how to ask yes/no questions, inference appropriate answers, and describe items to others.
This product contains:
- 1 category page
- 12 subcategory pages
- Yes/no page
Note: When I say “page” above, I am referring to two pages, that once assembled combine into one. One page is the storage/question strip page and the other contains the symbols.
Curious how it works? Download the preview and get the first 2 pages (for asking about the category) FOR FREE!
Use the visuals while playing guessing games. Your students can keep track of information they know on the yes/no visual. The category and subcategory sheets help them word appropriate answers and come up with characteristics to ask about/eliminate.
This game does require assembly, lamination, and Velcro. Or, you can use page protectors and dry erase markers to circle/cross off choices.

Very nice product that will be so helpful for our Speech/Language delayed students to be able to access fun games like Headbanz or Jeepers Peepers. This will help the students understand how to ask the questions and be able to organize the information they learn from asking the questions to ask better questions. How about some visuals for the “Guess Who” game in an update maybe?

This really is the most amazing resource. In a class group, even children who normally struggle are able to contribute ideas using the pictures. Great, versatile resource to use with different games! It helps so much to have manipulatives to help them focus, and visual choices for non-readers. Great resource.

Helped my students to play a modified version of heads up. I liked that it helped the to ask the questions and instead of me always prompting them.

This is a great resource! It’s the kind of thing I could have made myself, but the number of games it can be used with makes the cost well worth it! It would take me ages to find the time to make something similar.
Shannon S. –
This was so helpful in teaching my students how to organize their thoughts for asking questions in order to make inferences, and also for keeping track of the information they already got about the object they are guessing. This helped stopped the students who just asked “is it a food?” and hearing “yes” from then asking “is it a cat?” because they had a visual to refer to, showing that the object can’t be a cat, only some sort of food. It also helped students keep track of questions they had asked earlier on, so they didn’t forget what the already asked and what they already learned about the object.

Playing these games without this resource can be such a headache- no one remembers what questions they’ve already asked, let alone the answers to them and the skill of deductive reasoning. This helps our games go MUCH smoother.
