This 21-page packet is a fun way to target sentence formulation with a seasonal Thanksgiving theme.
To Play:
Mix and match to create “thankful” sentences. Once a student has a complete sentence formed, experiment with word order. “Can you put the ‘when’ card first?” “What about the ‘what’ card?”
Use the last sheet as homework, or for your students to practice creating their own sentences! For an added challenge, make sure the pronouns on the ‘why’ match the gender on the ‘who’ cards!
Included:
12 ‘who’ cards with Thanksgiving themed owls or people
28 ‘what’ cards with actions on them (ex: will eat dinner)
24 ‘where’ cards with places on them (ex: at the table)
8 ‘when’ cards (ex: next Thanksgiving)
24 ‘why’ cards (ex: because there is no school)
1 visual/mat
Google Slides™️ version for teletherapy or digital sessions
1 homework page/worksheet
8 Reflect! cards
5 WH question sorts mats (one for who, what, when, where, & why) for sorting each type of card

I used this yesterday with the elementary self-contained kiddos and it was awesome! I had them glue the pics onto the “thankful sentences” mat, then had them write/dictate then copy/trace their sentences. Once they did that, they did the same thing with the “when, who, did what, where, and why” mat…It was a great activity…thanks so much-
