This themed language therapy unit includes a wide variety of materials and resources for your students with language goals using a fun and engaging SQUIRRELS theme!
In this unit, there are materials directly targeting the following areas:

This resource is intended to give your themed therapy material collection a boost with targeted, explicit activities, visuals, and worksheets. Think of it like a starter toolkit that will guide your therapy planning for ~2-4 weeks depending on your caseload and therapy style.
All of the worksheets include editable text boxes so that you can type directly on the worksheet on a computer. In addition, Google Slides™️ versions of the worksheets are also included!
This unit also includes a deck of Boom cards™️ that relate to many of the activities in this resource!

I really love having themes in speech therapy. I think the kids become more engaged and its easy to move to different pages for mixed groups with a variety of goals . I’ve bought two of these themed units and have been very pleased with how many goals can be addressed and how the materials can be used for lower level objectives using picture icons and icon sentence strips, through higher level goals such as main idea, inferences, and the like. There is SO much included in her units, but figurative language would be a nice addition.
Shannon’s materials generally don’t have a lot of illustrations. She uses plenty of real life pictures of people of varying ages along with uncluttered black and white exercises. That’s SOO nice for older students who don’t want to be using materials that look juvenile, as well as for students who find lots of illustrations visually distracting. There seems to be lots of meat and less fluff in her materials than your average speech resource but it might be less visually appealing for some.

This is easily enough material to do for at least 1 month and supplement as she suggest with additional books (e.g. Chipmunk vs. squirrel book or Those Darn Squirrels/ Scaredy Squirrel books).
