These Boom Cards™️ target formulation WH questions using functional, real life scenarios! This resource contains 47 slides.

On each slide, your students will rearrange given words into a specific question type (e.g., who, what, when, etc..) that is related to a prompt at the top of the page.

There are 5 pages for each of the following question types: who, what, when, where, why, how (how many, how old, how much, how long), do, is, and are.

The first 2 pages of each WH question type include the words with punctuation and capitalization as an additional cue for your students. The last 3 pages of each WH question type do not include this to make the activity more difficult.

The targets in this resource are the same at the first level of my Question Formulation Maps printable resource.

Because these are Boom Cards, they work really well for teletherapy or digital speech therapy. You can read more about Boom cards below or on their website.

Great activity for practicing question formulation in an unscramble the text format! The probing scenarios are perfect, I just had to do a couple of practice items with my student. This is a valuable resource for 1st through 5th grade students are basic reader, but struggle with producing grammatically correct questions. And it targets MULTIPLE question types, which I really liked, not just “wh” questions (e..g., is/are, how, do/does)! Great thinking
