About Me!

“I believe that our students can do better when we do better.

I believe SLPs can and should love going to work.

I believe materials matter.

I believe SLPs can be great at what they do and have a life outside of being an SLP.”

If you do too, then join me on my mission to make SLPs more effective at their jobs in less time.

Hello and welcome!

d My name is Shannon and I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist currently living in the wonderful state of Wisconsin!!

This is me:

A few random facts about myself:
-I love soft things.
-I love drinking everything from a straw (yes, even wine!).
-My favorite foods are potato things and cheese.
-I love working with people with autism.
-I love the energy of children.
-I would describe myself as high energy, optimistic, passionate, and adventurous.
-I was an SLP-A here during my undergrad, and it was an absolutely amazing experience!
-I have the cutest puppies in the entire world.

I started this blog in November of 2012 as a way to keep track of, and share, all of the ideas I’d been learning about through this crazy process we call graduate school! Later that year, I began making and selling my own materials. I absolutely love the creative process, and making things that work for me in therapy!

Thank you for reading. I’m so happy you’re here!

Are you also on Twitter? There is a huge gathering of other SLP bloggers there if you use the hashtag #slpbloggers 🙂

I truly love 💕 your high energy and passion! Think 🤔 u have similar qualities that describes me, as well! Course, I am 76 years of age and a retired elementary teacher! Now, I tutor 2 b able 2 get my kids fix!
Plus, I am now tutoring a 4 th grader who has some speech problems. 4 instance, he says modded instead of mother. So forth and so on. I do believe u might b able 2 guide this 10 year old little boy!
I also drink everything with a straw, including champagne 🍾!
    Have a awesome sparkling day!!
Thank u so much 4 helping other educators and parents in the educational field. My specialty is reading 📖!!

This is Tricia Contreras. Made a mistake on my age. I am a very high energy 67 year old retired teacher. And the little boy says th sound as d, modder, fadder etc.
I think I need an editor 2 go over my mistake.
Hope your Easter was blessed with family, friends and an an awesome sparkling day!!
      Take care and God bless!
