Subscription Boxes for SLPs – From 3D SLP

Delight. De-Stress. Deliver. That’s one amazing company mantra, right?

Us SLPs are constantly looking for ways to streamline therapy planning. There’s just not enough time in the day to get everything we want to done and somehow find time to enjoy life too. That is what I LOVE about 3D SLP! This company is all about saving you time and money! Read on to check out more about their fabulous subscription box service made just for SLPs.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good subscription service. I’m obsessed with Stitch Fix for clothes and Pop Sugar Must Have for all sorts of fun things. And now I can add 3D SLP speech boxes to that list. They. Are. Awesome.

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of subscription boxes, this will blow your mind. Typically, you pay for a reoccuring service over a certain period of time. You might pay a certain amount for month, and then the company will automatically send a box in the mail filled with fun surprises every month! Some subscription services allow you to order boxes whenever you want and some require you sign on for a certain number of months. 3D SLP does it a little differently (in a good way!), so they allow you to add any boxes to your cart and checkout! You can see what themes you like or even look to find months that you’re particularly busy and need some extra lesson planning help!

Boxes range from $40-50 each. They are literacy based, beautiful, and useful right out of the box. According to the website, “It contains a carefully chosen book, suggested target goals across a range of literacy, language and social-interaction objectives, complementary apps, manipulatives, coordinated craft projects, custom worksheets and/or games, extension learning ideas as well as a thank you gift for all that you do.”

I can say that I was beyond impressed with the entire box I received! It was called “Windfall” and kite themed. Check out what was in my AMAZING box below.

When I opened my box, I was greeted with pretty purple tissue paper (my favorite color!):

It served an important purpose: keeping all of these GORGEOUS things in place and well protected. Look how gorgeous my box arrived:

As I said above, my box was titled “Windfall” and was weather/kite themed. Inside was this cute note containing a quick summary of the box and its contents. As you can see, the materials target weather concepts, predictions, kites, prepositions, shapes, and more! Tons of great topics.

My box came with a fun sucker treat. Isn’t this the most gorgeous sucker you’ve ever seen in your life?!

Probably my favorite part about this box is how SIMPLE it makes planning therapy. I’m not kidding. Sometimes these boxes are great in theory, but then you’re stuck coming up with ways to use all of the materials. Not with these boxes! My box came with session plans ideas for all age groups and a HUGE variety of real things you can target. You can tell these boxes are made by SLPs for SLPs because they definitely “get it”.

Most activities included centered about themes and topics from a book called Kite Day. I’m kind of a picky book person and this one was well chosen and super cute! I love that they include a real book with each box as I’m fairly used to planning therapy around a book. And now I have a book for this time next year with great ideas of how to structure therapy around said book. Bottom line: this box will continue to be useful year after year!

Also included were materials to MAKE A KITE and explore weather concepts. String and straws are shown below”:

Inside the envelope was beautiful paper for your kites and other useful visuals including a weather wheel! I’ve used this almost every week since I used the box.

Phew! So many cute, functional things. I can’t stand it! Below are my thoughts on the box I received:

The Book: Well chosen! Great lesson, great pictures, engaging, and correlates well with the included activities. Love that it was seasonal and I can use it year after year.

The Activities: I used the activities in this box for a solid 2 weeks. Some groups used them longer because each lesson took a bit longer. I think you could use the box for a month if you supplemented a couple of your own activities as well, which is incredibly easy to do with literacy based activities. The activities included were well chosen, engaging, fun, related well to the book/theme/topic, and best of all, targeted a variety of goals! They were also incredibly easy to implement. I love that 3D SLP includes so many session plan ideas for a variety of levels, ages, and goals. Again, they are successful in their goal to make therapy easier to plan!

The Quality & Appearance: EVERYTHING in the box was of amazing quality. Even the paper was gorgeous and well chosen. I could not have been more impressed with the quality and overall appearance. I really could not have put it together better myself.

The Value: This box retails for $50. The book alone sells on Amazon for $15. While I do think you could likely buy the contents for less than $50 (although it would probably be close…), you are really paying for a resource that arrives and can be implemented the next day (and last for several weeks). To me, the convenience is worth it. If you are an rockstar SLP that does this successful on your own, keep on doing you. I am too messy and disorganized to do this myself!

The Bottom Line: I would totally recommend these boxes for anybody who wants to save time, have more fun in therapy, and do literacy, theme based therapy! Yes yes yes.

Hope that helped you learn more about the boxes 3D SLP offers! I’d absolutely recommend them as SLPs are just too busy to reinvent the wheel themselves!

does that seem kind of pricey to you?? I love the idea, but not sure I would spend that much for it.

I think the price is justified because of the service. I pay more for Stitch Fix clothes because of the convenience of getting them shipped to me and being things I like. But like I said, if you’re the creative/planner type already, I think you could definitely replicate them much cheaper! 🙂
