It’s been over a month since I’ve written a blog post. Woah… Things have gotten away from me is an understatement. I’m finally feeling like a human again and thought I’d write to let you know what I’ve been doing and where I’ve been!

On November 27th, my boyfriend of nearly 6 years proposed. It was a joyous, exciting night. The next morning at 7am, I woke up and drove to work for my last day of work, which just so happened to be a Saturday. That Monday, I started a new job in the schools after being in private practice since graduation. I worked there through Thursday, and left for a 9 day vacation to Costa Rica. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, my fiance and I decided we wanted to get married IN JULY. Then came Christmas, and New Years.

It is now January 4th. I have my wedding almost entirely planned (the big decisions at least) and am on my third week of seeing kiddos in the schools. I love my new job and am so excited to get married. I feel like things are finally settling down!

Bottom line: I apologize for being an absent blogger. Life can be SO busy and stressful and thing like this (unfortunately) get put on the back burner.

Today, on the Monday back from winter break and my third full week at my new job, while walking through the hallway, I got told by one of of my kiddos with ASD, “Ms. Shannon! I forgot to tell you something. You’re really cool.” and that makes all the stress, sleepless nights, and frantic days worth it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for reading, and more importantly, sticking with me!

Congratulations on your engagement and new job. I’m in my 10th year working in an elementary school after working in Early Intervention, private practice, raising 2 boys and a few other jobs. It’s been a wonderful experience. I hope it will be for you too.
